"My own experience as an apprentice profoundly transformed me as a leader and as a disciple of Jesus. It gave me a picture of what a life wholly devoted to Jesus looked like so I could practically do the same. This is why at Sojourn, apprenticing and multiplying leaders is key to our vision of bringing God’s kingdom to Earth. Apprenticeship is the only way disciples learn how to be disciples."
Daniel Jarchow // Campus Minister, Sojourn Campus Ministry at the University of Washington |
"Jesus’ model is just as divine as His message. Apprenticeship is the model of Jesus. I have experienced the power of apprenticeship firsthand. Who I am today as a disciple and leader is a direct result of being an apprentice. If we’re going to see the Kingdom unleashed in our generation it will be through apprenticeship."
Preston Conder // Campus Minister, Reach Campus Ministry at the University of Alabama |
"One of the best ministry decisions I've made is the decision to be apprenticed. It changed the trajectory of my life and ministry. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't benefit from that investment. I love mentoring emerging leaders because I experienced the power of being apprenticed."
Neil Reynolds // Senior Minister, University Church of Christ & Pathways Director, Kairos Church Planting |
“I have been blessed to start apprenticeships at two different campus ministries. My initial desire to do this grew from my own unmet needs for mentoring when I was a young, inexperienced minister with no one to guide me. Figuring things out alone has never been God’s plan: Joshua had Moses, Timothy had Paul, and the apostles had Jesus. In ministry as in life, we desperately need somebody who has already been there to show us the way."
Chris Buxton // Campus Minister and founder, WolfLife Campus Ministry at Arkasnas State University |
