Shon Smith

Shon came to University in June of 2005 to serve as the Preaching Minister. In December of 2002 Shon joined Oklahoma Christian University as Vice President for Church Relations. He earned his B.A. in Bible in 1991 and a M.A. in Ministry in 1997 from Oklahoma Christian University. Prior to going to OCU, Shon served as the Campus Minister at the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from 1991-2000, and as the Pulpit Minister at the Bammel Church of Christ in Houston, Texas, from 2000-2002. Shon is married to Shannan and they have two children, Turner and Tate. |

Tom Perkins

Tom coordinates the ministries team and the activities of various ministries and works with new/existing members to find their purpose and ministry at University. Tom received his undergraduate education at Mississippi State University and Harding University in Music Education and Youth Ministry. He and Susan, married in 1991, have been in ministry for 16 years as youth, worship, and involvement minister. They have been at churches in Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Indiana, and now Alabama. Tom and Susan have two mostly awesome boys: Reed and Ryan. |

Sandy is a retired elementary school teacher and a longtime member of our University Family. She has served as Children's Minister since 2004. She and Andy have one son, Jamey. |

Jeffery Walker

Jeffery comes to UCC from Vernon, Alabama. He has been a member of the UCC Family since his undergraduate study at The University of Alabama in 1989. He holds a B.S. Degree and a M.A. Degree in Elementary Education and he is certified in administration and supervision. He has worked in the Children's MInistry at UCC for over a decade. Jeffery's main involvement at UCC is with Adventure Ridge (the K-4th Grade children's program). |

Logan came to University after he graduated from Lipscomb University in 2007, where he earned a degree in Bible and a minor in Youth Ministry. He is married to his best friend and co-worker, Lindsey Thrasher. Going on his third year, Logan has a deep love for the teens and families of University. He has been blessed to experience the growth God has brought on this church family, and he is excited to be a part of what God continues to do!

Lindsey is a 2007 graduate of Lipscomb University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Lindsey's favorite things are being with her Christian family, learning God's Word, hearing others' stories, traveling around God's world and seeing others fall in love with Jesus. She and Logan were married in 2007 and love to serve in God's family together.

Duane Dixon

Duane and Jenny married in 1997 and they have 3 children: Noah, Micah and Sophia. He was born and raised in southwestern Virginia. After some time at Freed Hardeman University, Duane completed his degree in Civil Engineering at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. After a few years of working in his field, he entered into full-time campus ministry at TTU and was there from 1999 to 2006. After two years in other ventures of ministry and small business, Duane came to the University Church in the summer of 2008 to work again in campus ministry. |

Andrea was born in Atlanta, Georgia. After receiving B.A.s in English and Vocational Ministry from Harding University in 2004, she left the United States for China. In Wuhan, Hubei, she worked as an English professor at Jiang Han University. On returning to the States, she became the UCM Capstone Intern here at UCC. She earned her M.A. from Lipscomb University in May 2009 and began working full-time for UCC's student ministries in June 2009. |

Marcus Brown
Marcus is a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at the University of Alabama. He was appointed an Elder in 1996. He and Carol have two sons, Titus and Noah and one daughter, Alycia.

Jay is a practicing attorney with Tanner & Guin, LLC. Jay became an Elder in 2003. He and Denise have four sons: Chris, Jonathan, Tyler, and Philip.

Doug and his wife Jackie own and operate the Gingerbread Children's Center in Northport. He also serves as Facilities Director for our building. Doug became an elder at University Church in April 2007. He and Jackie have one daughter, Jessica, married to Tommy Logan who is serving in the USAF.

Kelley and his wife Judy are currently employed at Tusco Fence, Inc. Kelley became an elder at University Church in April 2007. He and Judy have three daughters: Jennifer, married to Clay Daniel; Laura, married to Jamey Graham; and Beth, married to Clay Hester. They also have one grandchild, Sam.
