Shon came to University in June of 2005 to serve as the Preaching Minister. In December of 2002 Shon joined Oklahoma Christian University as Vice President for Church Relations. He earned his B.A. in Bible in 1991 and a M.A. in Ministry in 1997 from Oklahoma Christian University. Prior to going to OCU, Shon served as the Campus Minister at the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from 1991-2000, and as the Pulpit Minister at the Bammel Church of Christ in Houston, Texas, from 2000-2002. Shon is married to Shannan and they have two children, Turner and Tate.

Tom Perkins

Tom helps coordinate the various ministries at UCC including small groups (ACTS 2), adult education and serves as our worship minister. He also works with new/existing members to find their purpose and ministry at University. Tom received his undergraduate education at Mississippi State University and Harding University. He has served in ministry since 1990 as youth, worship, and involvement minister at churches in Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Indiana, and  Alabama. Tom and his wife, Susan, have two sons: Reed and Ryan.

Jeffery Walker

Jeffery comes to UCC from Vernon, Alabama. He has been a member of the UCC Family since his undergraduate study at The University of Alabama in 1989. He holds a B.S. Degree and a M.A. Degree in Elementary Education and he is certified in administration and supervision. He has worked in the Children's MInistry at UCC for over a decade. Jeffery's main involvement at UCC is with Adventure Ridge (the K-4th Grade children's program).

Logan Thrasher

Logan is in his fourth year as Youth Minister at University Church of Christ.  He graduated from Lipscomb University in May 2007 and moved to Tuscaloosa shortly after.  He is married to his best friend and co-worker, Lindsey, and they have two precious girls, Grace and Kaylee.  Logan loves to see the ways God works in his life and the lives of others, and is excited to see what He has planned for the future!

Lindsey Thrasher

Lindsey is a 2007 graduate of Lipscomb University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Lindsey's favorite things are being with her Christian family, learning God's Word, hearing others' stories, traveling around God's world and seeing others fall in love with Jesus. She and Logan were married in 2007 and love to serve in God's family together.

Andrea Zahler

Andrea was born in Atlanta, Georgia. After receiving B.A.s in English and Vocational Ministry from Harding University in 2004, she left the United States for China. In Wuhan, Hubei, she worked as an English professor at Jiang Han University. On returning to the States, she became the UCM Capstone Intern here at UCC. She earned her M.A. from Lipscomb University in May 2009 and began working full-time for UCC's student ministries in June 2009.

Marcus Brown

Marcus is a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at the University of Alabama. He was appointed an Elder in 1996. He and Carol have two sons, Titus and Noah and one daughter, Alycia.

Jay Guin

Jay is a practicing attorney with Tanner & Guin, LLC. Jay became an Elder in 2003. He and Denise have four sons: Chris, Jonathan, Tyler, and Philip.

Doug Key

Doug and his wife Jackie own and operate the Gingerbread Children's Center in Northport. He also serves as Facilities Director for our building. Doug became an elder at University Church in April 2007. He and Jackie have one daughter, Jessica, married to Tommy Logan who is serving in the USAF.
