"GOD'S PASSION, OUR MISSION"
UNIVERSITY CHRISTIAN MINISTRY
The University Christian Ministry (UCM) of the University Church of Christ has a rich legacy of serving students and sending young adult leaders who have a great impact in churches, campus ministries and foreign mission fields. God has blessed this congregation to touch the lives of thousands far beyond the campus of the University of Alabama.
SERVING AND DEVELOPING STUDENT LEADERS SINCE 1954
The University Church of Christ has been committed to Campus Ministry since 1954 and proudly supports UCM. The church was once located on University Boulevard, adjacent to the campus of the University of Alabama. Today, the church has broadened its outreach beyond campus ministries but continues to recognize Campus Ministry to be a fundamental piece of its mission. UCM is a recognized student ministry at Shelton State Community college and is currently seeking establishment on the campus of Stillman College.

UCM ACTS 2 GROUPS
The desire to express passion for God and compassion for people is nurtured within Acts 2 groups. The early church experience was one of real connection and community. We strive to replicate this within smaller communities for each student as a way to further develop faith and a lifestyle centered upon God’s love. The meeting times for Acts 2 gatherings vary but they usually meet on Sunday evenings. These groups “adopt” community agencies by serving them help to meet the needs of many in the community.
UCM REACHING OUT
Local Missions
We think it is very important for students to be involved in campus and community ministry. God has placed the University church in such a prime location for this. Many churches cannot boast of being neighbors with a great university, and we try to be a good neighbor to those who live on or near our campuses and in Tuscaloosa and surrounding counties. We continue to seek service opportunities that will glorify God.
Harvest Hands Food Pantry Ministry
This ministry is meant to serve anyone in the area who is having a difficult time keeping food on their tables. We encourage students to participate in Harvest Hands by distributing food on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. at the bus barn, located behind the University Church. Serving those in need is everybody’s responsibility. Hop on board and get involved!
