THE BRIDGE
(Grades 5 and 6)
Growing closer to God and others as we seek to
be the generation that changes the world.
The Bridge Brochure, 2010-2011
The Bridge is the Tweens Ministry at University Church of Christ. The Bridge exists to prepare 5th and 6th grade students for the transition to the Youth ministry. We strive to be the "bridge" between the children's ministry and University Youth. Classes, activities and service projects are designed to help students grow closer to God and to each other while seeking to be a generation that will change the world.
Through monthly activities, students prepare for the experiences they will have in the youth program in a more controlled atmosphere.
The most important focus is that each child grows closer to God. We emphasize our Bible study and encourage discussion. Our studies encourage the students to participate, discuss the topics, and give the students information to support their beliefs in their everyday lives.
Another major focus is service. We seek to be a generation that will change the world. With a strong foundation in Christ and a desire to serve others, this generation can make a great impact on the world around us. We seek to be the "generation change" that God calls us to be.
